Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator
Coach Means played football and basketball at Cocalico High School. He played on a high school team that only lost 5 regular season games from his sophomore to senior year and scored 1,000 points in his basketball career. He went on to play basketball at Shippensburg University where he was a 3 year starter for the Red Raiders. Coach Means then taught at Bohemia Manor High School in MD for 12 years and coached football for 10 years, serving as offensive coordinator for 6. In 5 of those 6 years the team advanced to the regional playoffs. This will be his third year at the helm at Oxford. Coach Means teaches Social Studies at Oxford and lives in Elkton, MD with his wife Kristin and two sons, Braeden age 11 and Brody age 9.
Coach Wood played football at West Catholic High School. He moved on to play 4 years at Albright College and then got his first coaching job as an intern at Albright. He then coached the defensive line at Bowie State before becoming coaching safeties and working as the Community Outreach Liaison at Millersville University from 2003-2007. From 2009-2010 Coach Wood coached safeties at Downingtown West High School and from 2010-2015 he coached safeties at Coatesville High School, part of a staff who took the Red Raiders to a state championship appearance in 2012. For the last 2 years, Coach Wood has served as the defensive coordinator at Oxford. He lives Bear, DE with his wife Letitia and two children, Zion and Layla.
WR/CB/Special Teams Coordinator
Coach Eric Szpyrka loves coaching at Oxford High School and is very thankful and grateful for the enormous support our program receives from our local community. Coach Szpyrka played high school football at Garnet Valley from 1984-1987 then went on to play at Williamson Trade School from 1988-1990. After playing 3 seasons at Williamson he went on to play at Wesley College from 1991-1992. Coach Szpyrka started coaching football in 1995 shortly after graduating from Wesley College. Coach Szpyrka spent 5 years coaching youth football in Cecil County Maryland before landing his first high school coaching position at Bohemia Manor in 2000 and spent 5 seasons coaching there. Coach Szpyrka has also coached football for 3 seasons at Avon Grove and Kennett high school and coached at Middletown high school in Delaware in 2004. Coach Szpyrka has coached high school football for a total of 14 seasons. Coach Szpyrka also coached semi-professional football in Delaware from 2003-2007 for the New Castle Saints where he was the head coach and offensive coordinator. He lives in West Grove with his daughter, Emily.
Defensive Line/Offensive Line
Coach Hildebran earned a B.S in Business and Computer Systems Management from Grove City College in 1999 and then earned an M.Ed. in Applied Technology in Education from Wilmington University in 2008. He spent 8 years coaching at Rising Sun (MD) as the Varsity Offensive and Defensive Line Coach and has spent the last 2 years as a Varsity Line Coach at Oxford.
Coach Pearson played at Chichester High School and was captain and All-Delco as a senior. He participated in the Hero Bowl. He was a 4 year Varsity letter as OL at Lebanon Valley College and captain his senior year. Coach Pearson coached at Solanco High School for 15 years. He was the Defensive Coordinator for 5 years and Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator for 9. This is his second year coaching linebackers and the offensive line at Oxford. Joe teaches Science at Swift Middle School and lives in with his wife Jenn and two kids, Alexis and Seth.
Junior Varsity Head Coach/LB/RB
Coach Martinelli played high school football at Haverford High School and then went on to play semi-pro football for the Overbrook Chargers for 5 years. He started his coaching career coaching the Avon Grove Wildcats Junior League and the Oxford Golden Bears. From there, Coach Martinelli went on become the Defensive Coordinator at Valley Forge Military Academy for one year before becoming the Head Coach of the Darby Saints, a semi-pro team, for 3 years. He then moved on to coach as the Penn’s Grove Middle School and Oxford Area High School 9th grade coach for 6 years before becoming the Junior Varsity Head Coach for the last 2 years. Coach Martinelli resides in Oxford with his wife, Karen, and children John, Michael and Gina.
Junior Varsity Defensive Coordinator/OLB/WR
Coach Nadachowski played High School football at Cardinal Dougherty in Philadelphia where he was part of a Catholic league championship team. He understands first-hand the dedication and hard work it takes to be part of a successful program. He has a combined 12 years of coaching experience at the youth, middle school and high school levels. After high school he continued his education at La Salle University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major course of study in Criminal Justice. Upon graduation he pursued a career in law enforcement and enlisted in the Pa State Police. He was subsequently assigned duty in Chester County where he has served the community for 23 plus years. He is married to his wife Kelly and has two children, Julian, age 17 and Marissa, age 19.
Junior Varsity Head Coach/LB/RB
Coach Higgins attended Glassboro State College and DeVry Tech with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He spent 7 years coaching Avon Grove Flag Football and the Oxford Golden Bears before moving up to coach for 3 years at Penn’s Grove. For the last 2 years, Coach Higgins has coached the offensive and defensive line for the Oxford Junior Varsity Team. He lives in Oxford with his wife Susan and has two sons, Corey, age 21, and Brandon, age 16.
Head Coach Freshmen Team
Coach Pizzini is entering his fifth year of coaching football in the Oxford Area School District. Husband and father of two wonderful kids, Pizzini’s first organized football experience was as a walk-on Freshman at Kutztown University where he initially rostered as a kicker. He later played Receiver, Tight End and Safety at the semi-pro level for the Mt. Vernon Steelers, Harlem Hurricanes and Oxford Saints. Pursuing a passion for football, Pizzini coached youth football for nearly 10 years prior to becoming the Head Freshmen Coach for the last two seasons.
Defensive Coordinator Freshmen Team
Coach Troutman played at Council Rock High School and earned his degree from West Chester University and Masters from Penn State. He started coaching in 1995 as West Chester as a 7th grade coach and eventually moved on to become the defensive coordinator at Twin Valley High School, where he coached from 1996-1999. Coach Troutman then coached the Unionville Varsity team from 2000-2002 and assisted at Avon Grove in 2006. This will be his first season at Oxford. He lives in Lincoln University with his wife Christy and daughter, Jaime.
